Practical tips

A few things that make the trip smoother (and better photos).

Pack layers: the north (Ain Draham) can be cool; desert nights can also drop in temperature.
Bring sturdy shoes: medinas, ruins, and Berber villages have uneven steps and stone paths.
Sunscreen + sunglasses are essential (especially Chott El Jerid and Sahara days).
A light scarf helps for wind/sand in Ksar Ghilane and Douz.
Keep cash for souks, small museums, and craft purchases (Nabeul and village stops).

Quick checklist

  • • Comfy walking shoes
  • • Sunscreen + sunglasses
  • • Light scarf for wind/sand
  • • Small daypack + water bottle
  • • Power bank for long adventure days
