Practical tips

A few things that make the Sahara days more comfortable (and more photogenic).

Bring a light scarf (cheche) for wind and sand — and it looks great in photos.

Pack layers: mornings and nights can be chilly in the desert, even when days are warm.

Closed-toe shoes are best for ksour + rocky village paths.

For the salt lake: sunglasses are a must — the glare is intense.

If you plan quad/camel rides, carry some cash for local providers.
